First Fully functional Core-Game Release!
Catch That Squirrel! » Devlog
This is the first release of the game Catch That Squirrel! with completed core-game functionality. What this means is that the game is now ready for a storyline to be created and built into the game, but the game is still fully playable with the core goal: catching all the squirrels.
What has changed in this update? First off, squirrels now follow the laws of physics. They don't fly, bounce, travel up mountains laying on their sides, and they don't phase in and out of the ground. They stay on their feet! They also can run away, panic, scream, and so much more that I've made a list.
- Squirrels now actually follow the laws of physics and stay on their feet.
- Introduced a 'panic mode' for the squirrels. Get too close and they'll run away from you.
- Squirrels will scream when initially panicked.
- Squirrels will enter a tree and stay there for ~45 seconds if panicked. They will spend that time chitter-chattering and screaming.
- Major redesign of the GUI
- Font changed from Arial to Permanent Marker
- Button text now has a much stronger contrast with it's background
- Removed skybox background for the main menu
- Major redesign of the pause menu; it now complies with the main menu screen
- Added controller support!
- Also added more wretched tree rats
- Collected 2 stinkbugs during development (In case you wanted to know)
Enjoy! I know I sure will!
